This covers getloulen.com and the Loulen mobile app.
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (like browser local storage) that getloulen.com uses, what each one does, and the choices you have. It doesn't cover the Loulen mobile app, which doesn't use browser cookies - see our Privacy Policy for how the app handles data.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some sites also use similar technologies like browser local storage, which work differently under the hood but serve a similar purpose - remembering something about your visit. We use both terms loosely below to mean "anything your browser stores on this site's behalf."
3. What we currently use

Neither of these is used to track you across other websites, build an advertising profile, or identify you personally. They're purely functional and don't currently require consent under any major cookie law, since they're strictly necessary to how the toggle/popup features work.
4. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate visitor behavior - which pages get viewed, how people navigate the site - so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies that allow Google to recognize your browser across visits to this site.

Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses - it's used transiently to estimate your rough location (city/region/country), then discarded, automatically, for every GA4 property. There's no separate "IP anonymization" setting to opt into, unlike the older Universal Analytics.
Google Signals and User-Provided Data Collection are both turned off for this property. We're not running ad campaigns yet, so there's no use for the cross-device/demographic data Signals would add or the enhanced-conversion matching User-Provided Data enables - and the latter would mean sending Google a hashed version of your email address, which we're not doing. This will be revisited if Loulen starts running Google Ads.
Your choices
- You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking on any site using Google's Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings - see aboutcookies.org for browser-specific instructions. Blocking all cookies may affect how this site's theme preference and other functional features work.
- If you're in California, see Section 6 for your CCPA opt-out rights.
Google's own use of data collected via Analytics is governed by the Google Privacy & Terms page.
5. Do we use advertising cookies?
No. This site does not currently run ad campaigns or use third-party advertising/retargeting pixels. If that changes, this policy - and, depending on your location, a consent mechanism - will be updated before any such pixel goes live.
6. Your rights (California / CCPA)
If you're a California resident, you have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information, which under CCPA/CPRA can include certain uses of analytics and advertising cookies. Since this site doesn't use advertising cookies (Section 5) and both Google Signals and User-Provided Data Collection are off (Section 4), there's currently nothing to opt out of on that front. If that changes - for example, if Loulen starts running Google Ads and enables either of those - this section will need a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link and process added at that time.
7. Your rights (EU/UK)
If you're in the EU or UK, we don't set Google Analytics cookies until you actively accept them. When you first visit this site, a banner asks you to Accept or Decline analytics cookies - Google Analytics does not load at all until you choose Accept, and you can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer. Declining, or simply not responding, means no analytics cookies are set.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our use of cookies and similar technologies changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
